*We used bamboo skewers as the trunk of our trees. The diameter is important! They need to be 0.12" (1/8") or 3mm. The length you choose will determine the height of your trees. Bamboo skewers can also be found in the kitchen utensil isle at big box stores.
*There are many ideas you can try for the base of your tree. Wine corks, mini terra cotta pots. We also used little birch wood slices that range in size from 3/4" to 2".If you have to drill a hole, use a drill bit just smaller than 1/8".
